Is holding a handstand hard?

How long can the average gymnast hold a handstand?
Now after 11 years of gymnastics and 3 1/2 years of being out of gymnastics I can currently hold a handstand anywhere from 60–90 seconds most of the time, sometimes with on two step during that time. It will take time and a lot of practice burn it most definitely if possible if you keep trying.
